My friends make me the richest person in the world.

Shine a bright light to see things clearly, and the recent public illumination has revealed a few things to me.

I don't live my life to impress others.

Things don't matter much to me, people do.

I am surrounded by beautiful amazing loving friends.

Thank you for making me laugh, giving me a place to run away to, keeping me too busy to worry, showing me the amazing things I didn't know I could do, letting me fall apart a bit, coming and playing at my parties... so much more.

Thank you all.

It was weird to see you posting all the AIG stuff because people aren't their jobs, you know, or their spouses jobs, and I figured it really had to be getting to you.

I've got another friend who works there (still) and she's been stressing out, too, freaking out in her LJ and being really on edge. But you're just who you are, you know? And what you are not is a person who is defined by what you do, or what your husband does, for a living. You are an interesting person that has varied interests in many things.

Glad you're seeing some improvement in all this. The public hysteria will pass and in a year or two people will have moved on to some other catastrophe that's catching their attention.

Hey!

Nope, never been defined by a job to myself. But that is what certain powers in the US would like for people to do to us. Hence the fomented mob, bus tours, friends who've had to take their kids out of school and gone into hiding.

I never meant for my blog to hit the big wide world. I've just been posting the company stuff - mostly news articles as you've seen - as it was easier than emailing links to family & friends back in the US. Imagine my surprise!

The guy was a total dick to publish our names and not contact us first. But in the end if a few more people in the US get the idea that we're being used to deflect attention from others... well I can live with a little privacy invasion. The folks working in Connecticut have it MUCH worse. Hope your friend is ok, pm me a link to her blog if you can.

Cheers!
